Stainless Steel Ball
AISI 316/316L Stainless Steel Ball
Profile
AISI 316 and 316L stainless steel balls offer the best corrosion resistance among standard stainless ball grades. The addition of molybdenum (2–3%) gives outstanding resistance to chlorides, seawater and a wide range of chemicals — making 316 the preferred choice for marine, chemical, pharmaceutical and food-processing applications. Jiaxin supplies 316/316L balls from 0.3 mm to 250 mm in grades G3 to G60.

Hardness:HRC ≤ 28 (annealed, HRB 80–95); cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
Grade:AISI 316 / 316L / UNS S31600 / S31603.
Sizes:0.3 mm – 250 mm, with custom diameters available on request.
Applications:Marine hardware, chemical pumps and valves, pharmaceutical equipment, food processing, medical devices and outdoor installations.

Why Jiaxin 316 Stainless Steel Balls
Four advantages over typical 316 stainless steel ball suppliers.

Widest Size Range
0.3 mm miniature to 250 mm large balls — far exceeding the typical 50.8 mm limit of most suppliers.
Bearing-Grade Precision
Grades G3 to G60, significantly tighter than industry-standard G20 or grade 1000, ideal for precision bearings
30 Years, Fortune 500
Three decades of manufacturing experience, trusted by Fortune 500 oil, gas and chemical companies worldwide.
ISO Certified Quality
Every batch ships with material certificate and inspection report. Passivation and custom packaging available.
Characteristics
Key material properties that make 316 the most corrosion-resistant standard stainless ball.

Superior Corrosion Resistance
Molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel delivers excellent resistance to chlorides, seawater and most chemicals.
Non-Magnetic
The austenitic structure is non-magnetic in the annealed condition, essential for electronic, medical and instrumentation use.

Precision Manufacturing
Available in grades G3 to G60 with good roundness, surface finish and consistent dimensional tolerances.
Hygienic & Biocompatible
316L is widely used in food, pharmaceutical and medical applications for its cleanability and biocompatibility.
Chemistry
Reference chemical composition of AISI 316 / 316L stainless steel.
-
Carbon (C): ≤ 0.08% (316L ≤ 0.03%) — low carbon prevents weld sensitisation
-
Chromium (Cr): 16.00 – 18.00% — forms the passive corrosion-resistant film
-
Nickel (Ni): 10.00 – 14.00% — stabilises the austenitic structure
-
Molybdenum (Mo): 2.00 – 3.00% — the key element resisting chlorides and pitting
-
Manganese (Mn): ≤ 2.00% — aids hot workability
-
Silicon (Si): ≤ 1.00% — improves oxidation resistance
-
Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.045% — kept low to avoid brittleness
-
Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.030% — controlled for cleanliness

Corrosion Resistance
316 stainless steel balls offer the best corrosion resistance of any standard stainless ball grade. They resist seawater, chloride solutions, most organic and inorganic chemicals, and a wide pH range.
For sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid or high-temperature chloride service, consider higher alloys or ceramic balls (alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride).
