Ceramic Ball
Zirconium Oxide Ball
Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) Ceramic Ball
Profile
Zirconium oxide (zirconia) ceramic balls combine near-steel density with the highest fracture toughness of any technical ceramic. They resist the brittleness that limits other ceramics, while offering excellent wear resistance, chemical inertness and electrical insulation. Jiaxin supplies zirconia balls from 0.3 mm to 250 mm in grades G3 to G60.

Hardness:HV 1200–1350 (HRA 80–85), with the highest toughness of any ceramic.
Grade: Y-TZP / Mg-PSZ, ISO 3290 Class I–II.
Sizes:0.3 mm – 250 mm, with custom diameters available on request.
Applications: Hybrid bearings, valve balls and seats, grinding media, pumps, medical devices and wear parts.
Why Jiaxin Zirconia Ceramic Balls
Four advantages over typical zirconia ceramic ball suppliers.

Widest Size Range
0.3 mm miniature to 250 mm large balls — far exceeding the typical 50.8 mm limit of most suppliers.
Bearing-Grade Precision
Grades G3 to G60, significantly tighter than industry-standard G20 or grade 1000, ideal for precision bearings
30 Years, Fortune 500
Three decades of manufacturing experience, trusted by Fortune 500 oil, gas and chemical companies worldwide.
ISO Certified Quality
Every batch ships with material certificate and inspection report. Passivation and custom packaging available.
Characteristics
Key material properties that make zirconia the toughest technical ceramic.

Highest Toughness
Fracture toughness of 8–10 MPa·m½ — the highest of any technical ceramic, resisting chipping and impact.
Steel-Like Density
At ~6.0 g/cm³, close to bearing steel, zirconia is a drop-in replacement in many steel bearing designs.

Wear & Corrosion Resistant
Excellent resistance to wear, acids, alkalis and molten metals, with a low friction coefficient against steel.
Non-Magnetic & Insulating
Zirconia is non-magnetic and electrically insulating, like all technical ceramics.
Chemistry
Reference composition of zirconia ceramic ball grades.
-
Zirconium oxide (ZrO2 + HfO2): ≥ 94% — the matrix providing toughness
-
Yttrium oxide (Y2O3): 4 – 6% (Y-TZP) — stabiliser retaining the toughening phase
-
Magnesium oxide (MgO): 3 – 4% (Mg-PSZ) — alternative stabiliser
-
Aluminium oxide (Al2O3): ≤ 0.5% — minor additive aiding sintering
-
Silicon dioxide (SiO2): ≤ 0.3% — impurity controlled
-
Iron oxide (Fe2O3): ≤ 0.1% — impurity kept low
-
Titanium dioxide (TiO2): ≤ 0.2% — trace impurity
-
Sodium oxide (Na2O): ≤ 0.1% — trace impurity

Corrosion Resistance
Zirconia balls resist most acids, alkalis, solvents and molten metals, and perform well in steam and aqueous environments.
Not recommended for: hydrofluoric acid, hot concentrated sulphuric acid, or prolonged steam exposure above 300 °C (which can destabilise Y-TZP).
